Choosing locally grown lumber EFFECTS more than the job site.

By harvesting and milling sustainably, we bridge the gap between forest restoration and high-quality building materials, supporting island communities, reducing waste, and creating a resilient, homegrown lumber supply.

WHAT’S POSSIBLE WHEN WE WORK TOGETHER

FestPAC 2024

A collaboration between Albizia Project, Nation of Hawai’i, and the Hawai’i Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) to address the issue of invasive species.

Over 1,000 invasive trees were harvested and transformed into a culturally significant structure for the 2024 Festival of Pacific Arts and Culture (FestPAC).

This project not only addressed the challenge of invasive species but also highlighted the role these trees can play in supporting Hawaiian traditions.

The team created a meaningful space for the festival that blended sustainability with culture, showcasing the importance of working together to restore native ecosystems and preserve indigenous Hawaiian practices.
